Pavel Durov: TON Among the Largest Blockchains for Daily NFT Trading Volume
Telegram founder Pavel Durov has made a bold claim about the growth of The Open Network (TON). According to him, TON has now become either the largest or the second largest blockchain when it comes to daily NFT trading volume.
This is a pretty big deal, considering how quickly TON has climbed up the charts. For years, Ethereum has dominated NFT activity, with Solana and Polygon also fighting for market share. But TON is getting a boost most blockchains can only dream of direct access to Telegram’s 900+ million users.
Why TON Is Growing So Fast
A few things are pushing TON’s NFT numbers:
-
Built into Telegram: People don’t need to leave the app. Buying and selling NFTs is as simple as chatting.
-
Cheap and fast transactions: No crazy gas fees, no long waits.
-
New projects launching: From collectibles to games, developers are starting to pick TON as their home.
Why It Matters
If these numbers hold, TON isn’t just another blockchain trying to catch up it’s turning into a real competitor to Ethereum and Solana. And because Telegram already has a huge global audience, TON could be the chain that takes NFTs beyond the usual crypto crowd and into mainstream hands.
What’s Next
Of course, one statement doesn’t mean TON has “won” yet. Ethereum still has the deepest ecosystem, and Solana’s community is strong. But Pavel Durov clearly sees TON as more than just a side project and the NFT trading activity is starting to back that up.
